Jessica Van Rennselaer Despard Warren, loving wife of the late Samuel D. Warren, died after a long illness at her home on January 26th. Mrs. Warren was a passionate reader and sharp wit who worked for environmental causes and education all her life. She served for over ten years as a member of the Board of Trustees of Shore Country Day School and was a longtime supporter and Trustee of the Essex County Greenbelt Association and Corporate Trustee of the Trustees of Reservations. Mrs. Warren also served as a trustee of Emmanuel Church in Manchester, Mass.  A graduate of St. Timothy’s school in Maryland, she attended both Sarah Lawrence and Radcliffe Colleges. She was a member of the Tavern and the Nucleus Clubs in Boston.

Mrs. Warren leaves behind her sister Katherine Page of Basking Ridge, and a brother, Clement L. Despard of Stonington, Connecticut; her sons, Samuel and his wife Taryn of Essex, Henry and his wife, Nina of Brookline, Hugh of Cambridge, Andrew and his wife Dianne of Moretown, Vt and her daughter, Jessica Bennett and her husband, Matthew of Katonah, New York;  and seven grandchildren: Samuel, Eloise, Natalie, Joseph, Charles, Alexander and Charlotte.
